Singer’s Workshop in Mill Valley

The perfect choral intensive for older singers, the Singer’s Workshop is a week-long day camp for the aspiring vocalist entering grades 5 and up. No experience is necessary to participate in this differentiated singing camp that provides aspiring vocalists a chance to expand their range, teaches new and more advanced vocal techniques and repertoire, improves musicianship skills, and most importantly – imparts more confidence as a singer. Join MGC Artistic Director Cole Thomason-Redus for a week of fun and vocal training. Students will also be given ample opportunities to get outside and enjoy movement. The week concludes with a performance at 2:00pm on Friday, August 1.

What does a typical day of Singer's Workshop camp look like?

Each morning begins with a rigorous vocal and physical warm-up, designed to discover and increase the potential and power of your voice. We then divide into smaller skill-based groups for intensive study of solfege, sight-reading, musicianship, and the performance of classical art songs. Afternoons are more relaxed as we dive into the non-classical genres of folk, musical theater, and jazz, while also exploring career options in music that fall outside of the spotlight and stage.
